Modeling User Perceptions of Generative Artificial Intelligence Through Technology Acceptance, Trust, and Risk
Generative Artificial Intelligence (AI), including Large Language Models(LLMs), is a technological revolution that has yet unknown impacts on our society. This study extends the Technology Adoption Method (TAM) to AI adoption in Information Technology (IT) education and considers the original TAM variables, as well as Trust, Risk, Experience, and Self-Efficacy. AI adoption does matter considering a Gartner observation that AI will impact all IT work by 2030 (2025). Rapid changes in IT, particularly in Cybersecurity, mean that even experienced IT and cybersecurity practitioners will require a new toolset, and it may be difficult for organizations to maintain the necessary training schedule. A potential real-time tutor is found in GenAI (Kallonas et al. 2024).
