Systematizing Research Collaboration in Higher Education A Design Science Case Using Microsoft Teams and Planner

This design science case study introduces a practical infrastructure for managing academic research projects that can be easily replicated with Microsoft Teams, Planner, and OneDrive. Developing and deploying a structured digital environment addressed ongoing issues such as fragmented communication and inconsistent file management across thirteen simultaneous research projects. Researchers documented using uniform folder arrangements, planner boards matching research processes, and standardized procedures to welcome new collaborators. Reflections show how the new system benefits include reduced administrative overhead and better transparency, leading to improved coordination, especially among early-career faculty members. The results provide practical guidance for institutions aiming to develop scalable research management systems and support discussions about digital transformation within higher education.
