Students’ Perceptions of Artificial Intelligence Benefits and Opportunities

This study aims to determine students’ perceptions of AI benefits and opportunities, focusing on AI usage, age, gender, major, and college status variables. An instrument with two constructs was designed and developed to measure the students’ perceptions of AI benefits and opportunities. The instrument was administered electronically to students from two universities in the Southeast USA. A total of 463 usable data was collected and analyzed through ANOVA. Significant group differences were found between AI usage, gender, major, college status, and AI benefits. For AI opportunities, significant group differences were found only for AI usage. These results are discussed, and recommendations for future research are made.
