Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning: Usage and Impacts On Future Higher Education

AI and ML technologies have the potential to revolutionize public sector operations, enhancing efficiency, citizen engagement, and service delivery. Despite benefits like improved healthcare and public safety, challenges remain, including workforce readiness and regulatory concerns. Similarly, higher education faces pressure to integrate Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning effectively to meet evolving societal needs and maintain competitiveness amidst global uncertainties. Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning technologies are rapidly transforming higher education, offering opportunities to improve teaching, learning, research, and administrative processes. These technologies are increasingly used in admissions, personalized learning, predictive analytics, and administrative tasks. Overall, a balanced approach is necessary to effectively integrate AI&ML into HE and enhance educational experiences. Diversity, Equity and Inclusion are vital in HEIs, promoting fairness, access, and inclusion for all. They enrich the learning experience, prepare students for a globalized world, and foster social cohesion. Overcoming challenges like bias detection, personalized learning, language accessibility, diverse faculty recruitment, and inclusive curriculum development requires leveraging AI-driven tools. These initiatives create inclusive academic environments, prioritizing fairness, accessibility, and representation for all stakeholders.
