What is the IACIS Annual Conference?

The IACIS annual conference is held during October at various locations throughout North America. The conference provides professors and other information systems professionals an opportunity to meet other academics with similar research interests, discuss timely issues, and participate in the presentation and discussion of research, applications, and other technology-related topics.

What does the Conference program include?

The conference begins on Wednesday evening with registration and a reception, providing an opportunity to renew old friendships and make new ones. Thursday generally begins with a keynote speaker, followed by a full complement of paper presentations. Thursday evening has a social event called "Fun Night," another opportunity for participants to interact and socialize. Friday is a full day of paper presentations, with a Business Luncheon to present awards and introduce the Directors. Saturday morning has paper presentations, followed by a final conference review, feedback and wrap-up session. The conference generally ends by 1:00 P.M. on Saturday. The reception, fun night and business luncheon are all included in the conference registration fee. Annual membership in IACIS is also included with conference registration.

How should I prepare and submit my paper for the IACIS conference?

By conforming to a specified format and timeline, all submitted papers are assured a fair and equitable review. Before you prepare and submit your paper for the conference, visit the links below for detailed information about the Author's paper guidelines, and conference policies.

What happens if I register for the conference and find that I cannot attend? Can I get a refund of registration fees?

Registration refunds are available, minus the $95 membership dues, for cancellation 60 days prior to the conference. Because of required financial guarantees, cancellations made less than 60 days from the conference date are made on a pro-rated basis. For refund policies and details see:

If I have a paper accepted for conference presentation and am not able to attend, can I have someone else make my presentation?

IACIS policy requires one unique author to be registered for each paper accepted for presentation and publication. When you are registered for the conference and do not request a refund, a colleague may make your paper presentation. If you are not registered, your paper will be removed from the program and IIS.
